Hello loves, ❤
Blogs flying all over the place today – 3 blogs and its not even 11:30am. WOO! I am on a roll today (Plus juggling a busy work schedule) I always save time to blog ❤
I got a delivery at work this morning, SUPER EXCITING! I love DELIVERIES! And, it was a lovely delivery from Carly from My Ink Smears, be sure to check out her page 🙂
Carly is from Houston, Texas which is LITERALLY on the other side of the world to me.
Carly & I have been in discussion since before Christmas to do a blog/vlog on food from the opposite side of the world 🙂 April has come & we are both at a good time to now be able to send this to one another 🙂
Carly sent me Apple Jacks, Cheez-It’s & Twinkies.
I have never tried these 3 things ever, so I am SO excited to try these.
I will possibly do a blog/vlog over the weekend on me trying these.
In return, I will be sending Carly some Australian goodies (I can’t share as it’s a surprise for her, so once she receives them, I can share what they are) Also, once Carly does her blog/vlog I can re-blog it onto my page & you can see her trying the Australian stuff for the first time 🙂
Be sure to stay tuned on me trying goodies from Houston, Texas 🙂
Has anyone else ever tried them? Am I in for a treat?
Also, any recommendations on what I should encourage Carly to try from Australia?
Wherever you are in the world, have a lovely day ❤
What a fun idea. I can’t wait to see what you think and what you have sent!

We can get these items in Canada. I really like Apple Jacks. My mom used to buy them for me when I was a kid. She wouldn’t buy twinkies because they are very very unhealthy but oh so good. ☺️ I’ve had those crackers a couple of times at friends’ houses back in the day. These treats remind me of my childhood.
I’m not sure what’s good in Australia but I am a fan of Aussie Shampoo! I’m pretty sure Carly has Aussie shampoo in Texas though. That’s tricky but I’m interested to see what you end up sending Carly 🙂

Oo, thats interesting ❤ You can't buy them here in Sydney, Australia.
Ohhhhh. So twinkies are classed as an unhealthy food? Shall I go to the gym after I eat them?
I am excited to send Carly some great things.
I have a few things in mind 🙂

I’ve always wanted to visit Australia. Sending warm wishes all the way from Canada! 🇨🇦 It is mid April and it still snows some days, there’s snow on the ground, and I hardly call this spring. Canada: 8 months of winter, 4 months of everything else.

COME HILARY! You must!
I’ll be your tour guide ❤
Wow, I hope it brightens up soon.
Do you experience summer?

Yes, we have very very hot summers in Canada. I’m in school during the summer too and am dreading the heat.

Oh no! thats no good – Does your school have air conditioner?

The university is quite “new” so yes, there is air conditioning and indoor tunnels to avoid going outside. I don’t know my way around campus too well and I don’t know the tunnel routes.

Thank god there is air con, so you don’t COOK!

Hey Hilary. 🙂 I have never used Aussie shampoo. I am not sure if they are in Texas or not.
Yes, those snacks remind me of my childhood too. 🙂 I was disappointed when Hostess stopped making Twinkies but thank goodness, they brought them back again! lol. I don’t eat them as much as I did as I kid. Have you ever had a fried Twinkie? I had one at the Houston Rodeo.

It’s crazy that you are all writing about how they stopped making Twinkies? I’d love to know why 😦

Twinkie’s brand Hostess went brackrupt in 2012, even though, they were popular and many people missed them. Maybe people were eating healthier foods because there profit went slightly down. They have been around since 1930! Then another company purchased Hostess out of bankrupty in 2013.
I hope that’s not too much info! lol. 🙂

And Ho Hos! Also, I didn’t know this until a minute ago (when I was staring at pics of Ding-Dongs), but recently, they launched Ding-Dong ice cream sandwiches. ~yummy~

Ding-Dong ice cream sandwiches sounds to good to be true.. 🙂 Hostess is one of the most satisfactory bakery companies. They have been around a while too.

I know!! I went on their website last night and saw that they made ice cream, which surprised me since I’d never seen them in the ice cream section at most supermarkets. I heard they’re not as good as the actual Ding-Dong–taste more like a regular ice cream sandwich, but I’ll have to try them myself to find out! 🙂

Yeah, I don’t always like things too jazzed up. I had a fried Twinkie before at the Houston Rodeo. It was too sweet. Just give me the regular delicious Twinkie! 🙂

Seriously, you need to try the Twinkies. They are ~amazing~! Almost anything by Hostess is pure sweet-tooth gold. And if you like Twinkies, you’ll love their chocolatey cousins, Ding-Dongs. 🙂

A few years ago, Twinkie production suddenly stopped and America went berserk until they brought them back to store shelves almost a year after they originally stopped making them. I only eat one or two a year (since they’re actually quite bad for daily consumption), but I indulge in every bite whenever I do. ❤

Thats so interesting! Why were they going to stop making them?
LikeLiked by 1 person
I think Hostess, the company that owns them, filed for bankruptcy, which stalled production of Twinkies. There was an urban myth that Twinkies have an indefinite shelf-life, so some people started buying a bunch of Twinkie boxes to ensure they didn’t run out.

They are all good but the Twinkies are my favorite of the batch. Soft cream-filled goodness. I am curious to see which is your favorite. The Twinkies don’t look smashed going clear across the world. lol. 🙂

Nope, they weren’t smashed, they are in perfect condition 🙂 I think your wrapping saved it ❤
