Beauty Hacks Before Bed

Hello loves ❤

try these great hacks before bed for great wonder for your body 🙂

Don’t sleep on your stomach!

What kind of sleeping position do you have? If you are a stomach or side sleeper, I got bad news for you! Sleeping like this can actually cause bags under your eyes because fluid tends to collect in that area (Imagine all of that weight on your face). Avoid this and sleep on your back. Also try putting more pillows under your head. This will allow the fluid in your face to drain instead of collecting and sitting all night.

Get a new Pillowcase

Studies have shown that cotton pillow cases cause creases on your skin and create wrinkles. Satin ones, on the other hand, don’t. They absorb moisture and adjusts to all temperatures (warm in winter, cool in summer). Silk pillow cases will not only lessen the pressure on your skin, but will also help reduce the amount of hair breakage, plus your hair stays soft and static free as you sleep.

Lengthen Your Lashes

You want longer lashes? Then apply castor oil from root to tip of your lashes before you go to sleep. This natural oil is rich in super-hydrating omega-6 fatty acids, which help moisturize your lashes and prevent breakage (it can also be used for eyebrows). Leave it on overnight and when you wake up in the morning wash it off with warm water before washing your face.

Whiten your teeth

Try baking soda before bed. But just be sure to only do it once a week or you could damage your teeth. Brush your teeth as normal, then just dip your toothbrush in baking soda and brush your teeth one more time. Leave the mixture on for a few minutes and then rinse thoroughly. It’s a great overnight treatment because you’d normally have to wait an hour before eating or drinking anything.

Rejuvenate your skin overnight

For your face: Use a small drop of vitamin E oil under your night cream. For your Body: Use olive oil and massage it into your skin before going to bed. Your skin will be grateful.

 Avoid heavy meals before bed

You’ll be doing your body the most favors if you drink lots of water and don’t eat a heavy meal before bed. Keep dinner light and try to avoid alcohol, sugar and too much salt.

Nourish Your Hair

Before you go to bed apply some leave-in conditioner to your hair and let it soak in all night. It’s the perfect time for your hair to soak in that extra moisture that it needs. Your hair will feel much more hydrated and healthy when you wake up in the morning and if it looks a little greasy, just wash it out when you take a shower.

Wake up sun-kissed

Before your bed time routine, exfoliate your skin, moisturize and apply some false tan. Go to be and you’ll wake up with a sun-kissed glow.

Eye Care

Do you constantly wake up with dark circles under your eyes? Apply a small amount of almond oil under your eyes to treat dark circles and fines lines. The oil is very nourishing and can take great care for the sensitive area under your eyes, so you will wake up looking fresh and rejuvenated!

Split ends

Get rid of dry and crunchy hair! Before going to bed just apply some leave in conditioner or argan oil to your hair and let it soak in all night.

Get Volume!

After showering at night, pull your hair up into a high, loose bun and secure with a soft elastic or headband (tight plastic ones may create creases). So when you wake up and take it down, you’ll have amazing volume and soft waves.

Try to sleep for at least 7-8 hours every night

When you don’t get enough sleep, you wake up with red eyes and tired skin – it sags, loses its glow and you get bags. Your blood vessels dilate and you’re extra stressed throughout the day. So be sure to get your beauty sleep!

My Birthday Weekend – Swimming, The Langham & Food.

Hello lovely people ❤

I pray you all had a beautiful weekend. I had THE BEST weekend. EVER!

Both Saturday + Sunday, I spent w/ Rach, she made my birthday one to remember.

Saturday, I went to the Mind, Body & Soul Festival. I go every year, the event is on 2 times per year. Once in May & One in October, I am there without fail. I love it! I purchased 3 books this year.

  • The Little Book of Hygge by Meik Wiking
  • It’s All Good by Cassie Mendoza-Jones (Started reading this one on the train to work)
  • Positive Energy by Tanaaz Chubbs

I than went to the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre & went for a swim w/ Rach, that was SO much FUN. Swimming isn’t easy, I woke up the next day w/ a SORE BODY. The chlorine dried out my skin SOOOOOO much, but was def worth the experience. The last time I went to the Aquatic Centre, I would’ve been atleast 10 years old.

We than went out for food, I had a lovely acai bowl, whilst Rach had a breakfast plate.

Rach also did my nails, she did a nude colour shellac coating w/ some gold glitter on the accent nail. #birthdaynails

I also watched SLEEPING BEAUTY for the FIRST time… ever! Yes, I know where was I as a child? Why didn’t I watch Disney movies? I know, I know, I am the wost. I only watched The Lion King last year.

I loved Sleeping Beauty, I was so intrigued. I than watched Maleficent… WOW! That is a whole different BALL GAME. Has anyone watched that?

On Sunday, Rach took me out for my birthday. We went for a walk at Barangaroo, Sydney – the view was amazing. I would love to do a picnic there in the near future, it was AMAZING. We sat by the sun & had a beautiful morning, chatting etc.

We than made out way to The Langham for a beautiful treatment, I had the most amazing massage of my life, the therapist was amazing, she really took a lot of the knots out of my body (I am so knotted from the gym as well as sleeping like a PRETZEL & also sitting at a computer desk all day.

I felt like a new woman after it!

We than had access to the pool, spa, sauna – what an amazing experience. the inside of this pool area AMAZED me so much. It was honestly the most amazing experience – the pool was set at a nice warm temperature.

We than got ready for our High Tea lunch together, got dressed up, put some make up on, did my hair & off we went upstairs to our High Tea experience.

I absolutely loved it, I tried food I would NEVER try.8BF05BC0-A6F7-480A-A3A0-90294BD87FF6

Al the food came out on a cute Cupcake-looking-stand. When you see it, you think there’s only a little bit of this & a little bit of that.

BUT… Don’t be fooled. I was full just after the bottom tier. The scones filled me up. BUT they were the best SCONES of my life. & I’ve tried my fair share of scones. The jam was delicious & they whipped their own cream there. I WAS AMAZED.

Below is a photo of the menu & the things we got to try.

(Look at the design of the cup & plate, sooooo cute)

The only thing I didn’t like & I have to be honest is Duck Liver Parfait, when Rach & I tried, we both look at each other & just put the food back on the table.

I would never try DUCK but I did & I am proud. The food was lovely. By the time we got the the top of the tier, I was STUFFFFFFFFFFED. My stomach was going to burst. EB6E238C-7120-4099-95BC-4464D8592182

I also had the most beautiful tea, I had a peach flower tea pot, it was honestly such a beautiful tea.

I really need to see if T2 has this tea, I WILL BUY IT!

Just when I thought it was all over… Rach organised a lovely platter of chocolates to come out  & they wrote Happy Birthday on the plate. It was so lovely of Rach to organise this. I was gobbsmacked!

The walk back to car was NEEDED bc I was SOOOOOO FULL. It was a mission to walk back to the car in my heels BUT I did it 🙂

Rach got a nice photo of my outside The Langham when we were leaving which I really like.

I am so happy that I got to share my weekend w/ you all.

I am so excited for this week leading up to my birthday 🙂

I am very grateful of such a beautiful weekend from such a beautiful & lovely friend ❤

How was everyones weekend? I would lover to hear what you all got up too.

Sea Salt is the Answer!

Have you ever noticed that your skin gets much better when you spend time in the sea? Guess why!

Many people notice skin improvements whenever they are on vacation and go for a swim in the ocean. Even cuts, grazes, rashes, eczema and psoriasis heal faster. How is that possible?

Our bodies contain the same concentration of minerals and nutrients as sea water does. Amazing, isn’t it?

Therefore, it’s no surprise that sea salt is good for our health – especially for our skin. It is packed with skin-loving minerals like magnesium, calcium, and potassium. It absorbs the toxins in the body and on the surface of the skin, including acne-causing bacteria, and works to treat infections and speed up the healing process.

Benefits of sea salt:

  • Sea salt can fight acne causing bacteria.
  • It restores the skin’s natural pH balance.
  • It detoxifies the body.
  • It provides vitamins, minerals and nutrients that the skin needs to stay clear and healthy.
  • Sea salt exfoliates to remove impurities that clog pores and promote new skin growth.
  • It promotes blood circulation.
  • It restores the skin’s natural oil balance.
  • It can prevent skin infections.

Can you also use normal table salt?

No! The difference between sea salt and ordinary salt is the mineral content: Sea salt is loaded with important minerals like magnesium, calcium, sodium, and potassium, which all play a key role in our body’s health.

Sea salt water straight from the ocean is one of the best ways to treat your skin, but for those of you who don’t live near the beach: Get yourself some high quality sea salt from the grocery store.

 How to do it:

The common way to use sea salt as an acne treatment is to soak your face in sea salt water once a day for about a minute or two. Then rinse you face with water. You can also try these treatments:

Method 1: Sea Salt Spray

  • Mix sea salt with water.
  • Pour it in a spray bottle and spay it on your skin.
  • Massage in a circular motion for few minutes.
  • Rinse with water and pat dry.
  • Repeat daily for best results.

Method 2: Sea Salt Mask

  • Mix equal amounts of sea salt with water and make a paste.
  • Wash face with warm water to open the pores.
  • Apply paste on acne affected skin with fingers tips.
  • Massage gently in circular motion for few minutes.
  • Leave on for 15 minutes and rinse with warm water.
  • Again rinse with cool water to close the pores and pat dry.
  • Apply moisturizer and repeat twice a week.

Method 3: For pimples and spots

Make a thick paste of sea salt and water and dab it on pimples or individual spots. This dries them up and brings them to the surface more quickly. Let it sit for 15 minutes and rinse with water.
Wherever you are in the world, have a lovely day ❤

Time To Detox!

Do you feel puffy, bloated or tired and struggle with digestive issues? :

Signs that detoxification is needed

  • brittle nails and hair
  • fatigue
  • digestive problems
  • acne and irritated skin
  • frequent allergies
  • infections
  • puffy eyes or bags under the eyes
  • bloating
  • menstrual problems
  • unexplained headaches

How to detox on a daily basis:

#1 Eliminate toxins from your life

First, stop your toxic consume. Eliminate nicotine, alcohol, coffee, refined sugars, saturated fats, pesticides, but also stress and negative thoughts.

#2 Start your mornings with a glass of hot lemon water

Drinking a glass of warm water in the morning is the best thing you can do to kick-start your digestion and metabolism. Squeeze in half a lemon and drink it 15 minutes before breakfast. Lemons are packed with vitamin C, stimulate the liver, and help your body to flush out toxins. Drink it during the day as often as you want.

#3 Eat detox-food

Organic fresh fruits and vegetables like papayas, beets, radishes, spinach, cucumber, cabbage, broccoli, artichokes, spirulina, and chlorella are excellent detoxifying foods.

#4 Don’t snack all the time

This allows your body to fully and properly digest all of its food so that it can devote more energy to cleansing as the digestive system rests.

#5 Breathe deeply!

This is the easiest way to detox. Our bodies are designed to release 70 percent of its toxins through breathing and need the right amount of oxygen to function properly. Close your mouth and inhale deeply through your nose for a count 4, hold your breath for 7 counts, then exhale through your mouth for a count of 8. Repeat it at least four times a day.

 #6 Oil Pulling

Oil pulling is a fantastic oral detoxification procedure that is simply done by swishing a tablespoon of oil (typically coconut oil or flaxseed oil) in your mouth for 10-20 minutes. Oil pulling works by cleaning the oral cavity in a similar way that soap cleans dirty dishes. It literally sucks the toxins out of your mouth and creates a clean, antiseptic oral environment that contributes to the proper flow of dental liquid that is needed to prevent cavities and disease. After swishing, spit it out and brush your teeth.

 #7 Drink tea!

Green and herbal tea is full of antioxidants. It hydrates you and fills you up. Choose dandelion root, burdock, and milk thistle, they help the liver to get rid of toxins. Plus, drink at least two quarts of water a day.

 #8 Take it easy

Life is too short to stress yourself all the time and to worry about everything and everyone. Learning to deal with pain, stress, and change is the best way to minimize the negative effects on our lives. Generating positive emotions is the most important key to detoxify the mind.

 #9 Exercise & Sweat

Exercise increases the blood flow promoting better circulation to pump white blood cells through the body and help organs cleanse themselves effectively. It can kick-start the natural detox process as it flushes out the lungs and cleanses the skin as we work up a sweat. In addition you can also have a sauna so your body can eliminate waste through perspiration.

Wherever you are in the world, have a lovely day ❤
