Hey lovely person!
So it’s day 9, and you’ve covered a lot. Some fun things, some more serious things and some things that are just a pleasure to do.
Today you’re going to look at the most important thing you can do to increase your self care.
I want to work on saying ‘no’
Why?
Because the ability to say no is fundamental to self care, and a vital life skill. Without it, you are at the beck and call of everyone, unable to make choices and take control of your life. With both physical and mental consequences you feel overwhelmed, stressed and depressed.
Yes, serious stuff!
The ability to say no is far more than just learning a few scripts or sentences to use because let’s face it, if it was that easy we’d all be saying no to things!
The thing that makes it hard to say no is fear:
Fear of rejection
Fear of hurting someones feelings
Fear of conflict
Fear having someone think badly of you
But what if I said you can say no politely, respectfully and without conflict?
What if I said you could say no without hurting anyones feelings and without them getting upset?
Well you can…
So today, I’d like you to grab your journal and explore how you feel about saying no.
For example, is it easier to say no to a man or a woman? Work or social? Family or non family? Does it make a difference if you’re face to face, or via tech?
Allow yourself to become aware of how you feel when you are asked to do something you don’t want to, whether you say no or not.
Saying no to unwanted requests without guilt is the number one thing you can do for your self care
Stay tuned for Day 10.
Wherever you are in the world, have a lovely day ❤
Thank you for reblogging ❤

I was going to say maybe not a friend of mine, but then ironically it is fear that God uses to get me to do things I otherwise never would or think I could. Friends are good for that. 😉 Oh and the song is How Can I Fear With Jesus?

Oh my. This one will be a challenge. Fear and I have been long time acquaintances. Saying no can be pretty hard to. Interesting to put the 2 together. I shall definitely pray before I blog, and listen to “How Cab I Fear With Jesus?”

Yes, so true. The older you get the easier it is to say no to things that dont bring you value and honor your highest self. Great post! xx

I struggle with this so much. I always feel like I’m going to hurt someone’s feelings by saying no. It needs to change. Thanks for your post on this topic.
