Watching What You Are Eating…

I believe in watching what you are eating is MANDATORY!

You cannot except to live a healthy lifestyle f you are not eating healthy food for your body.

Think of it as you body is a FERRARI – You would not put E10 (junk food) in your Ferrari, you would put in 98 OCTANE (healthy foods) – you would ensure that your car runs to its best potential, so you put the best foods in it.

Our bodies are our only home & we only get one of them – we must look after it as much as we can.

Before Breakfast: Before you even start thinking about breakfast, I recommend squeezing one fresh lemon into a glass of cold water. Drink this on an empty stomach to purify & detox your body from toxins & also kick start your metabolism.

Breakfast: What you want in the mornings are FRUITS! The best time to eat fruits is in the morning when the sugars from the fruits are distributed nicely throughout the body. This is because when fruit is eaten, the digestive process works very quickly and our body uses different enzymes to digest the fruit. The simple sugars contained in fruit need time to be completely absorbed by your body. When fruits are eaten alone, your stomach can more easily process all of the nutrients, fibre and the simple sugars contained in the fruit. This is the optimal ‘proper way’ to benefit from the fruit you eat. If you eat fruit close to a meal, especially right after a larger meal and combine with other foods, it’s held in the stomach too long along with other foods and will rot and ferment in the gut.

Lunch: A good lunch will provide enough energy to sustain you throughout the afternoon. The key is not to eat too many carbohydrates. The carbohydrates you eat should be wholegrain – such as wholegrain pasta, brown bread. These release energy more slowly than white carbohydrates and are also high in B vitamins and fibre which are good for bowel movement. Try wraps instead of sandwiches. These are flat pancakes made from wheat flour wrapped around a hummous or salad filling. They have higher nutritional value than a sandwich because they contain less carbohydrate on the outside and more nutritious filling.

Snack: Few hours after eating your  lunch, it is time for a snack! But instead of making this chips & chocolate – choose almonds, carrot sticks, celery sticks etc.

Dinner: Dinner is your last meal! The important notice here is that you want to consume your dinner before 6:00pm. You must remember to stay light as you are about to sleep & not going to burn too much energy. Try stay towards salads, with boiled eggs, tuna salads etc.

After Dinner: Prepare green tea, & drink this before bed – Drinking green tea before bed can get you some good benefits; however you must choose a decaffeinated one and therefore selecting the right kind of tea is most important. But here are some benefits of taking green tea before bed. Since it has a relaxing agent present inside of it, the green tea will help in soothing your nerves and relaxing you. Both of these ingredients make for a good night’s sleep and a good sleep in the night directly means a fresher mind in the morning. Research has shown that sleeping soundly and adequately directly affects your body’s metabolism. And a healthy metabolic system ensures a body in good physical shape and a glowing skin. Sleeping for fewer hours can even lead to weight gain since the metabolism slows down. By taking the green tea in the night, you can ensure that the metabolism stays on the tract. Eliminating waste buildup from the body is crucial and cannot be underestimated. Taking green tea in the night, after all meals are done is a way of ensuring that your body will be assisted in the removal of the wastes.
